Campaigns for Student Council offices are underway.

When you walk through our building you will notice campaign signs all over the walls for our student council elections. The elections will be held next week when Mrs. Nilsson, the student council advisor, will distribute ballots to all of the classrooms. Student Council elections are a terrific opportunity for students to learn about the processes of democracy in a first-hand way. The students who are running for office work hard to earn the voter's support. They gain valuable experience in presenting themselves and their ideas. The student voters engage in a decision making process that is one of the core values of our democracy. Win or lose, students learn that they have a voice and influence in matters that are important to them. We congratulate all of the students who have participated in this process and will publish the results later this month.
